Getting Started With JBQ

Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ) was created and designed to help children develop a love for the Bible and an understanding that its truth can guide their lives daily. JBQ offers a fun, exciting way to motivate children to understand the all-important truths in God’s Word. Through cooperative learning, children work together on teams to learn and understand the questions and answers from the Bible Fact-Pak. Then, using cooperative competition, the children meet with other teams for a fun quizzing match. There are twenty questions in a match, with two teams of quizzers trying to beat each other to the buzzers to get the first shot at the answers. It has been said that JBQ is the fastest growing discipleship program in children’s ministry.

Why JBQ?

The Central Texas area is a part of the much-larger North Texas District. We meet up with teams from across the district every year during District Finals, as well as at occasional invitational meets.

Why We Quiz

In the Central Texas area, Junior Bible Quiz teams from area churches get together times a year to compete with one another. Quizzers have come from areas around Austin, covering from Bastrop to Burnet, Dripping Springs to Taylor, and San Marcos, to Jarrell.

JBQ Officials

PLEASE NOTE:
All North Texas District officials must complete an online certification process.

Officials set the tone and keep the order of each quiz match. Well-trained and godly officials can help make a difficult situation much easier. To make sure your officials are well-trained, give each official a copy of the (free!) Official JBQ Guidelines. Then, have each official take the online officials' test* to make sure they can apply the guidelines correctly. Let's set a goal to have the most awesome officials in the country!

*NOTE: You will need to contact Ron Birrell for the password for the test - OR YOUR SCORES WILL NOT BE SAVED.

Circle of the Sword

If your officials are learning the questions along with the children, then have them take the JBQ Seals tests and register them for the North Texas District's awesome "Circle of the Sword," honoring the best officials around!
