2009 District Finals Scores

Wow! What an exciting weekend! 30 of the top Junior Bible Quiz teams from around the North Texas District came together for fun, fellowship, and lots of GREAT quizzing on March 27 & 28, 2009. As always, it was a thrilling meet which came down to the wire to see who would be crowned North Texas District Champions for 2009.

And the prize goes to Kingdom Explorers from Mt. Creek Community Church in Dallas, Texas! Our District Champions for 2009 have earned the right to compete at National Finals in June. This is Mt. Creek's first trip to Nationals, and you can just imagine how excited they all are. Congratulations, Kingdom Explorers! We are all SO proud of you!

David Brauchler from Master's Mavericks (Abundant Life in Grapevine) was our top individual quizzer for the weekend. He scored an average of 116 points per round! Great quizzing, David!

Kelechi Emeodi from Glad Tidings in Austin took the prize at our 7th annual Bible Master tournament. Way to go, Kelechi!

The Details

The top 30 teams were divided into four preliminary divisions. Each division played a complete round robin within the division. Then, the top two teams from each division qualified to compete in the Platinum division for the title of District Champions, the next two teams moved into the Gold division, and so on.

This year we also had a 10-point division for our youngest North Texas competitors. The best of our youngest quizzers gathered for some thrilling rounds of their own. Check out the Emerald and Ruby scores, below.

The top North Texas District teams have earned the right to compete at the South Central Regional Finals on April 24-25, 2009 at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas. The top five teams from that tournament will advance to National Finals in June.
