2010 District Finals Scores

It was another thrilling championship meet in North Texas as the top Junior Bible Quiz teams from around the North Texas District came together at Lakeshore Church in Rockwall for fun, fellowship, and lots of GREAT quizzing on March 26 & 27, 2010. As always, the meet came down to the wire to see who would be crowned North Texas District Champions for 2010.

For the second year in a row, the Kingdom Explorers from Mt. Creek Community Church in Dallas, Texas are our District Champions! They have earned the right to compete at National Finals in June. Way to go, Kingdom Explorers!

Moving on to Regional Finals along with Mt. Creek will be: Tribulation Force (The Oaks Fellowship in Red Oak), Swords of the Spirit (Grace Community Church, Flower Mound), the Olympians (Trinity Church, Cedar Hill), and Masters Mavericks (Abundant Life, Grapevine.) All of these teams will be competing for a chance to move on to National Finals.

Elle Miller from the Olympians was our top individual quizzer for the weekend. She scored an average of 115 points per round! Fantastic quizzing, Elle!

David Brauchler from Masters Mavericks won the Master Seal Cup at our 8th annual Bible Master tournament. Way to go, David!

The 2010 Coach of the Year trophy was presented to Gena Skinner of Dripping Springs United Methodist Church. Gena's loving spirit comes through in her teams every year; she is such a shining example of Christian love!

The Details

The top 30 teams were divided into four preliminary divisions. Each division played a complete round robin within the division. Then, the top two teams from each division qualified to compete in the Platinum division for the title of District Champions, the next two teams moved into the Gold division, and so on.

We also had a large 10-point division for our youngest North Texas competitors. The best of our youngest quizzers gathered for some thrilling rounds of their own. Check out the Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Pearl scores, below.

The top five North Texas District teams have earned the right to compete at the South Central Regional Finals on April 23-24, 2010 at The Bridge in Mustang, Oklahoma. The top five teams from that tournament will advance to National Finals in June.
